Mansfield Senior High art teacher Mindy Duncan talks with students whose work was judged to be among the best in the state in the annual Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition. Works by four students at Mansfield Senior High school are among the top 75 state winners – from approximately 11,500 entries statewide – in the 2018 Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition.
Five other
Senior High works are among the top 225 statewide.
“Our winning entries represent several different mediums – paintings, a photograph, an altered book and pastel,” said art teacher Mindy Duncan. “I am very proud of the work of our students.”

Breyon Mills, “Indian Prince”
In April Cline’s work will be displayed at the Ohio Department of Education. The pieces by Hinton, Howell and Mills will be displayed in the Rhodes Office Tower.
Mills had a second work, “Book of Queens,” among the top 225 in the state. Also among that group are:

Senior High
sent 117 pieces to regional judging on March 3 at Ontario High School,
Forty-three works then advanced to the state judging March 10 at Hilliard
Davidson High School.
Senior High’s regional winning works will be on display at the Mansfield Art Center through April 15.
Now in its
48th year the Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition is dedicated to the educational and artistic advancement of students in Ohio. Participation is open to all of the state’s 1,112 high schools, both public and private, chartered by the Ohio Department of Education.
