High school/middle school security cameras on board's agenda

The Mansfield City Schools Board of Education will act Tuesday on a resolution to waive competitive bidding, as allowed by state statute, for an upgrade of security cameras at Mansfield Senior High School and Mansfield Middle School.

Action will come during the board’s regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. at the Raemelton administration building, 856 W. Cook Road.

The resolution “for security and protection of school property” would allow a $134,200 expenditure for additional upgraded video surveillance cameras, brackets, switches and related equipment. Installation would begin on April 2.

In other action, the board will hear a report on the district’s services to talented and gifted (TAG) students from Hollie Christie, director of student support programs, and Veronica Williams-Payne, TAG teacher.

Williams-Payne also will be recognized as the district’s monthly Every Student, Every Day Champion.
