New student seating rules in effect at Arlin Field

Students in grades four through eight must comply with new rules at Arlin Field this fall.

Students from Malabar Intermediate School and Mansfield Middle School will wear color-coded wristbands and have designated seating areas during football games at Arlin Field this season.

“These new procedures are designed for student safety and an improved game experience for all fans. They will be in place at the Tygers’ Sept. 5 home opener against Lima Senior,” said Superintendent Brian Garverick.

All Malabar and Middle School students who attend games will receive colored wristbands from their principals to identify their schools. Only students with wristbands will be permitted to enter Arlin Field and wristbands must be worn while in the stadium.

Malabar students

Malabar students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when entering Arlin Field. Malabar students who are not sitting with their parents will sit in a designated area in the upper home section closest to Trimble Road. Students must remain in their seats during the game, but will be allowed to go to the concession stand during the first and third quarters.

Middle School students

Middle School students will sit in a designated area in the upper home section closest to the home locker unless they are sitting with their parents. Students must remain in their seats during the game but will be allowed to go to the concession stand during the second and fourth quarters.

Malabar and Middle School students may go to the concession stand at halftime only if accompanied by an adult. Students may not loiter under the stands. After visiting the restrooms or concession stand they must return to their seats.

Students who do not follow the code of conduct may lose the privilege of attending future games.

“We want everyone to enjoy the Tyger football experience,” Garverick said. “Parents, please discuss these new procedures with your children. Thank you.”
