The Malabar Intermediate handbell choir group includes, from left, Vi-Anne Matthews, paraprofessional Tracy Gasper, Jakory Reese, Charles Plummer, Skyler Crawford, homeroom teacher Debbie Reynolds-Boggs, Amanda Smith, Ryan Peltier, Devin Kinney, Jayden Moore, Javian Adkins, Gracie Rollison, Destanie Buck and music teacher Pamela Hunt.

A group from Malabar Intermediate Group provided a special treat for residents of Elmcroft of Ontario during the recent celebration of Older Americans Month.

The school’s handbell choir, led by music teacher Pam Hunt, performed several numbers to the delight of residents who were joined by members of the Civitan Club.

“We were asked to perform after someone saw us perform at the Rehab Telethon in February,” Hunt said. “We have been practicing for several months and were thrilled to have Civitan Club members present too.”

Handbell choir members include fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders from Debbie Reynolds=Boggs’ class.

The choir’s selections at Elmcroft included “Finlandia,” “Home on the Range,” “Jacob’s Ladder,” “Red River Valley” and “Whacky Fajita.”
