Three of Mansfield City Schools’ 2016-2017 retirees are Michael Finley, Carol Hamilton and Deniece Jeffries.
Mansfield City Schools is honoring its retirees and recognizing its substitute teachers and support staff this week.
Eight employees with a combined 189 years of service in the district are 2016-2017 retirees. They include:
-- Carolyn Adkins, food service, Sherman Elementary, 17 years.
--Joyce Bolinger, custodian, Senior High, 25 years.
-- Joseph Clem, head custodian, Prospect Elementary, 29.5 years
-- Michael Finley, custodian, Sherman Elementary, 16 years
-- Carol Hamilton, special education paraprofessional, Woodland Elementary, 19 years
-- Deniece Jeffries, food service, Woodland Elementary, 17 years
-- Mary Jo Lux, pre-kindergarten intervention specialist, Spanish Immersion, 36 years
-- Robert Whitaker, custodian, Malabar Intermediate, 29.5 years
Each received a photo album. Mrs. Lux also received a plaque noting more than 30 years of service in the district.
Substitute teachers and support staff also were recognized this week with cookies in the schools provided by the Kroger Company.
An accompanying poster denoted Substitutes Appreciation Week. It read, “Thank you for all that you do for our children and staff here at Mansfield City Schools. Help yourself and enjoy and know that you are appreciated!”
Recognition for retirees and substitutes was arranged by Cynthia Gilbert and Teresa James, executive assistants in the personnel office.
