North Central State College has scheduled nine summer bridge camps for students entering ninth grade at Mansfield Senior High School and three for seventh- and eighth-graders at Mansfield Middle School.
All of the 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. camps are free and include breakfast, lunch and snacks. Bus transportation will be provided from Senior High and the middle school.
Camps will be led by faculty from NCSC, Senior High and the middle school.
“Education means jobs, said Senior High Principal Dr. Jose Hernandez. “In 2020, when our ninth-graders will be graduating from Mansfield Senior, two-thirds of the jobs in Ohio will require some college and 45 percent will require a college degree. Education is the key to success and financial security.
“An exciting part of that emphasis is the summer camp program offered as a joint venture between the high school and middle school and North Central State College, led by our faculty and North Central’s. The camps are funded by a grant from the Richland County Foundation and support from the NECIC Community Connectors project.
