Food, prizes at Malabar Math Literacy Night

Free dinner, classroom visits and prize drawings are on tap at Malabar Intermediate School’s Math Literacy Night on Tuesday, March 31.

The program – 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. – will begin with dinner in the cafeteria, followed by classroom activities for both students and parents. The evening will conclude with prize drawings.

“How math has changed will be the theme of the evening. We’re teaching math differently now,” said Assistant Principal Tom Hager. “Parents will accompany students to their classrooms for a variety of math learning activities.”

The first 150 Malabar students who attend will receive gift bags filled with books, fraction dice and math supplies.

Adults may register for prize drawings that will feature gift cards from local retailers and pizza providers. One lucky grand prize winner will receive a computer tablet.

“We’re hoping for a huge turnout,” Hager said. “This will be a great opportunity for parents to see classroom learning first-hand.”
