Librarian- Mrs. Stallsmith
My name is Karen Stallsmith. I am the Malabar Intermediate Library Paraprofessional and I love my job! I graduated from Malabar High School in 1981 and I attended and graduated from The Ohio State University in 1985, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Social and Behavioral Sciences. Prior to moving back home to Mansfield, I taught Pre School in Worthington, Ohio for 2 years. I married an amazing man in June 1987 and moved back to Mansfield. I worked with my husband in a Mansfield family business until I began my Mansfield City Schools career as a Substitute teacher in 2006. In 2008, I became a Paraprofessional. My love for the school environment is strong and deep! I have 2 amazing children! Ben, my first born, teaches 6th, 7th and 8th grade History and Social Studies in Beachwood Ohio. My daughter Ann, a graduate from Lexington School District, will be attending The Ohio State University, Fall of 2020, majoring in Civil Engineering.
In my spare time I love to read, relax with my family, needlepoint and play Mah Jongg with friends. I am not much of an outdoor person but I love walking my dog Carmen and mowing the yard (on a riding mower). I love computer technology – computer editing, word processing, and keeping in touch with family and friends.
Working in the library has been extremely rewarding for me! I am surrounded by books, wonderful staff and students, and I get to work in the coolest Library ever!
