Middle school classroom teacher in new role as the dean of students

Logan Slavinski is the new dean of students at Mansfield Middle School.
Logan Slavinski, a seventh-grade math teacher, was named dean of students at Mansfield Middle School Tuesday evening. The change of assignment was approved during a special meeting of the board of education.

A 2011 graduate of Clear Fork High School and a 2015 graduate of Ashland University, Slavinski is in his fifth year in the district.

As dean of students he will be part of the administrative team of Principal Jason Douglas and Assistant Principal Jessica Shaffner.

“My approach to this new role is to provide as much support as possible to our students and to Mr. Douglas and Ms. Shaffner,” Slavinski said.

“As a classroom teacher, I know that issues with students can range from behavior to just needing someone to talk to.”

Slavinski also is an assistant Tyger varsity football coach. A standout tight end on the Ashland University football team, he was named to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic Excellence Team from 2011 to 2014, and was an All-GLIAC honorable mention in 2013 and 2014.
