Sack lunch/breakfast distribution will continue during spring break

Erskine Braggs and Mike McPeek of UMADOAP prevention services distribute sack lunches and next day’s breakfasts from a school bus at Springmill STEM Elementary School.

Mansfield City Schools will continue weekday distribution of sack lunches and next day’s breakfasts during spring break week, April 13-17.

Meals will be available from 12 to 1 p.m. at Mansfield Senior High, Malabar Intermediate School and Springmill STEM Elementary School.

Distribution averaged 400 lunches and 400 breakfasts last week. Nutritionally balanced meals are prepared at Senior High, then packed in coolers for distribution.

Superintendent Stan Jefferson said the sack meals program, which began March 18, will continue as long as schools remain closed.
