Board of education will meet in special session on Tuesday, Sept. 11

The Mansfield City Schools Board of Education will hear a report on a major grant awarded to the district when it meets in special session at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the Raemelton administration building.

Dr. Holly Christie, MCS director of student support programs, will outline the 21st Century Community Learning Centers program grant which will provide tutoring for at-risk middle school students and other after-school initiatives designed to improve academic performance.

The federally funded grant, administered by the Ohio Department of Education, will provide $850,000 over five years.

After any other regular business, the board will move into executive session to consider the evaluation of district employees, as permitted by state statute.

The board’s next regularly scheduled meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 18 at Raemelton, 856 W. Cook Road.
