Greg Pruitt, former running back for the Cleveland Browns, will be a guest player at the annual Tyger Booster Club Tyger/Falcon Alumni Golf Outing held on Saturday, July 31, 2021. Greg recently visited the Mansfield City School Football Stadium, Arlin Field, touring the renovations that were started in May with Bob Booth, Mansfield City Schools Facilities Director. During his visit, they discussed golf and the Tyger/Falcon Golf Outing and Greg decided he would love to play in the outing and support the Tyger Athletes. Pruitt played his first nine seasons in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns, 1974-1981, led the team in rushing, recorded three 1,000 yard seasons, and was a five time Pro Bowl player (4 times as a Cleveland Brown). Greg is a member of the Cleveland Browns Legends.
This year’s outing will be held at Oak Tree Golf Club at 1440 Oak Trail, Mansfield. Oak Tree has 6,000 yards of rolling hills, forests, and lakes. It is a blend of fun and challenge and ideally suited for golfers of all types and skill levels. There is a $300 entry fee for each team ($75 per player) and the team must have four players as this is a scramble. Cash prizes for 1st place is $300, 2nd place $200, and 3rd place $100 per team. There will also be prizes for longest drive, longest putt, and closest to the pin. Door prizes, 50/50 raffle, betting holes, and a silent auction will also be available. Hot dogs and chips will be available on the turn and lunch will be served at the end of the outing.
