Tygers committed to the military will be recognized in Columbus

      Six Mansfield Senior High School seniors who have committed to military service will join their counterparts throughout the state on March 11 at the third annual All-Ohio United States Armed Forces Career Commitment Celebration.

      The program will be from 10:30 to noon at COSI -- the Center of Science and Industry – at 333 W. Broad St. in Columbus.

      High school juniors and seniors who have committed to the military, including active duty, Reserve or National Guard, have been invited to take part. Three hundred students participated last year.

      Tygers who will be recognized next week include:

      -- Payne Schlegel, Marine Corps

      -- Ashley Pauley, Army

      -- Tanner Harless, Army

      -- Sarah Wayman, Army

      -- Mikaeli Maddox, Navy

      -- Kyleigh Jarvis, Army

      They will be accompanied by Senior High counselor Kayla Loughry.

      Hosts for the celebration are the Ohio Department of Education, Ohio Department of Veterans Services, Ohio National Guard and United Services Organization.
