Applications to fill board of education vacancy due by June 7
Any qualified resident of the Mansfield City Schools district who is interested in filling a vacancy on the board of education must submit the online application by 4 p.m. on Friday, June 7.

The application is available by clicking on the board of education page at the top left of the district’s web site, tygerpride.com, then go to Board of Education Vacancy Application under “links.”.

Applications must be sent to treasurer Robert Kuehnle at [email protected]

The vacancy was created by the resignation of Judy Forney, effective May 31.

Board president Renda Cline said all qualified applicants who submit applications by the deadline will be interviewed individually by the remaining four board members at 5:30 p.m. on June 11.

The person chosen to fill the vacancy will serve from June 18 through Dec. 31 to complete the second year of Forney’s four-year term. That individual and any other qualified candidates will have to seek election on the November ballot to serve the remaining two years of the term.

“We will move our regular June 18 monthly meeting to Mansfield Senior High School,” Ms. Cline said. “At the outset of our regular business we will swear in the person chosen to fill the board vacancy. After regular business we will have a 30-minute recess for the public to greet Superintendent-elect Stan Jefferson and the individual appointed to the board.”

After the recess the board will move into executive session with no action to be taken afterward.
