Undefeated Tyger Mekhi Bradley seeks state wrestling title

      For the second time in eight days a wrestler from Mansfield Senior High/Mansfield Middle School has been sent to state competition in grand style.

      Middle school students lined their hallways Friday afternoon to cheer eighth-grader Mekhi Bradley who will wrestle this weekend in the Ohio Junior High state tournament. Sanctioned by the Ohio Athletic Committee, the tournament will be at the Covelli Centre in Youngstown.

      Bradley, who wrestles at 205 pounds, has a record of 33-0 with 31 pins. He is the Ohio Cardinal Conference middle school champion, and OAC district champion and state qualifier.

      The son of Tyger head football coach Chioke Bradley, he also is on the middle school A’s and B’s honor roll.

      On March 7 Senior High students, staff and the band gave junior Josh Lyons a rousing sendoff to the Ohio High School Athletic Association state wrestling tournament in Columbus.
