Children’s Hunger Alliance to partner with Prospect Elementary School for weekend meals pilot program
Beginning Friday, November 5, 2021, a partnership between Mansfield City Schools (MCS) and Children's Hunger Alliance (CHA) will provide weekend meals to students at Prospect Elementary School.

All food products in the weekend meal bundles are shelf stable. Meal kits will include one dinner, two breakfasts and two lunches for each weekend. The meals will be distributed to all Prospect Elementary students prior to dismissal on Fridays.

Prospect Elementary is serving as the pilot building for the weekend meal distribution program, which will serve 215 students. The intent of both MCS and CHA is to expand to all elementary schools throughout the district, and potentially the whole district in the very near future.

"The partnership between CHA and Mansfield City Schools is greatly beneficial for our Tygers,” said Lauren Moran, manager of Food Services at MCS. “The ability to fill in the gap over the weekend is a tremendous opportunity to provide additional support to students and families,” she said.

CHA is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger. Their mission is to ensure that children without access receive healthy food, nutrition education and physical activity. CHA partners with organizations throughout Ohio to provide nutrition meals to at-risk children. Learn more about CHA by visiting their website: https://childrenshungeralliance.org/.
