Board of education's monthly session set for Tuesday

      The Mansfield City Schools Board of Education will approve the district’s 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school calendars during its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 19.

      The 5:30 p.m. session will include a Career Tech report by director Scott Musser and a Mansfield Rising update by Ali Watson of the Richland County Foundation.

      The board also will recognize the achievements of four athletes:

      -- DaQuan Hilory, the eighth Mansfield Senior basketball player to score 1,000 points.

      -- Talayzha Catchings, the fifth Lady Tyger basketball player to reach 1,000 points.

      -- Josh Lyons, who qualified for the state high school wrestling tournament.

      -- Mekhi Bradley, who qualified for the OAC junior high state wrestling tournament.
