Intervention Specialist- Mrs. Reynolds-Boggs

Hello!  My name is Debbie Reynolds-Boggs.  I kept my name Reynolds because I am named after the famous actress Debbie Reynolds who starred in the film “Singing in the Rain.” You may know her daughter as Princess Leia from “Star Wars”.  I was born and raised in Glenmoor, a small suburb outside of East Liverpool, Ohio.  This is located in northeastern Ohio near the Ohio River. I grew up watching the large barges transport coal down the river.  The rivers here look like creeks to me.

I graduated from the Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, and a Masters Degree In Deaf Education. No jobs were available in deaf ed. at the time, so I took a teaching position in my hometown in a multiply disabled classroom.   I furthered my education after that at Youngstown State where I earned 3 more licenses; Intellectually Disabled, Multiply Disabled, and Learning Disabled.

I moved to Mount Vernon, Ohio in 1985 after I was married, and joined MCS in 1987.  I have been teaching the hearing impaired and signing for over 30 years and it is my passion!  My favorite subject to teach to them is reading!

I have 2 other passions, singing and playing piano.  I sing in church and for weddings.  I am also the proud mother of my 27 year old daughter, Kaitlyn.  She is in her second year of residence MD at Children’s National In Washington DC.  She will soon be applying for a fellowship  in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

Intervention Specialist- Mrs. Houseworth
Hello! I’m Carol Houseworth. Mansfield City School District is home to me. My grandmother and mother taught in Mansfield for many years. I started spending time in my mom’s classroom in the 1970’s. I grew up helping grade papers and playing learning games. I never dreamed of becoming a teacher until I volunteered to tutor a student who had unique learning needs when I was in high school. These experiences led me to want to serve students in the Mansfield City Schools. I have been an intervention teacher for 25 years and I love learning. To relax, I camp with family and friends, knit, and listen to audiobooks or music.

In my free time, I love spending time with my family! I have 5 children and have been married since 2003. I also love a good challenge in fitness and learning new skills.
