Brian K. Garverick, Superintendent

Every Student, Every Day.

That banner is displayed in each Mansfield City Schools building.

It is not a slogan. It is a commitment.

All of us at Mansfield City Schools – the board of education, teachers, administrators and support staff – are committed to preparing students for success in life.

That preparation begins early. For 2018-2019 our pre-kindergarten program has again earned a 5-Star Step Up to Quality rating, the highest awarded by the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. The rating recognizes the highest quality of learning and development, staff qualifications and family and community partnerships.

Twenty-seven of this year’s Mansfield Senior High freshmen qualified as eighth-graders for Graduate Pathways to Success, an academic partnership with North Central State College that will earn them two-year health technology associate degrees at the same time they graduate from Senior High. The program is free and the students will not have to leave the high school to take the additional courses as part of their regular schedules.

Our Spanish Immersion School has been named a High Performing School of Honor by the Ohio Department of Education.

Springmill STEM Elementary, the only Ohio Department of Education-designated STEM school in Richland County, has added second grade this year. With the addition of third grade next year, Springmill will be a K-3 building.

A performing arts curriculum, offering a complete live theater experience from sound and lighting to on-stage performances, has been added to our successful Senior High Career Technical Education program.

It is not easy to shatter inaccurate and misleading stereotypes of our district, but we continue our work with a clear focus on positive strategies. Our students at every level are learning. Our graduates are moving on to success in post-secondary education, the military and rewarding employment.

Every Student, Every Day.

Please join us throughout the year on the Internet at Tygerpride.com, on Facebook at Mansfield City School District  and on Twitter, @MCS Tygers.
