Students who
achieved perfect state scores line a side of the board of education room after
receiving a standing ovation. It was
standing room only at the Mansfield City Schools Board of Education meeting
Tuesday as 12 students were honored for having perfect scores on portions of
state proficiency tests last spring.
“We are very proud of you and we want to recognize you for your achievement,” said Stephen Rizzo, the district’s chief academic officer.
The room full of parents watched as Winston Greene, district testing coordinator, read the students’ names. Board members gave each a standing ovation as Rizzo presented plaques, small gift certificates and Outstanding Tyger certificates.
The certificates, signed by Rizzo, read: “Thank you for your dedication to learning and your positive attitude. It is an honor to have you as part of the Tyger Family! Congratulations!”
