The
Mansfield City Schools Board of Education will hear an update about arts
integration in the classroom when it meets at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at
the Raemelton administration building, 856 W. Cook Road. The arts
discussion will be led by Kim Johnson, principal of Woodland Elementary School,
and Michael C. Miller, president and CEO of the Renaissance Performing Arts
Association.
Mansfield
City Schools, the Renaissance and the Mansfield Art Center are local
participants in the Partners in Education program of the Kennedy Center for the
Performing Arts. The program places teaching artists in schools to provide academic
instruction through dance, music, playwriting, puppetry and other artistic
means.
Tuesday’s meeting is the first in the board’s new schedule of meeting twice a month on the first and third Tuesdays. All meetings will be at 5:30 p.m. at Raemelton.
