Spring Orchestra Concert

Last night Mansfield Middle School and Mansfield Senior High School had their Spring Orchestra concert.  It was an amazing event!  Both orchestras sounded fantastic.  Mr. Matt Domka conducted these young musicians.  He was assisted by Mrs. Lindsay Brown and special guest Phil Blevins on the drums.
The seniors were honored and given their orchestra plaques.  All the seniors have been in the orchestra for 9 or 10 years.  Mr. Domka made a plea to parents and guardians to keep them involved in orchestra all the way through middle school and high school.
Landon Nicholson was honored last night.  Here is some info about his award:

The National School Orchestra Award is the highest honor you can bestow upon a member of the high school orchestra to recognize excellence in playing and contributions to the ensemble.

To preserve the integrity of the Orchestra Award, schools are limited to awarding one National Orchestra award per year.

The recipient of this award lives and breathes music.  When he’s not practicing his violin or listening to classical or violin music he can be found attending local Mansfield and Ashland symphony concerts with his buddies. He has been a member of our Mansfield Senior High orchestra for 9 years, serving as concertmaster and a member of the Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra for 3 years. The recipient of the 2024 National School Orchestra Award is Landon Nicholson.  (This was from Mr. Domka)
