Mansfield Senior High students raised more than $1,300 Friday for the families of Chardon High School shooting victims.
Senior High students who contributed $1 were permitted to wear jeans and a red shirt or red sweater instead of required campus wear. Students wearing Chardon's red and black colors assembled in the gym Friday afternoon for this photo.
Faculty and staff also contributed to the fund.
The money will be sent to the families of last week's shooting victims. Three students were killed and two others were wounded.
Classes resumed Friday at Chardon High School.
Secretary Becky Cashell summed up the feelings of faculty and staff about the Senior High students’ efforts.
“Our students are super,” she said.
